The Slapsticks matched together in June 2005, with the porpouse of being as soon as possible part of the rock'n'rolling underground italian and european scene. With their minds pervaded by the dream of bands such Hellacopters, Turbonegro, MC5 and Ramones, they rolled up their sleeves and recorded their first EP only two months later (The Great Depression) with the assistance of Mars Valentines, from Hong Kong 99 and Valentines fame.
Other four months of gigs, and a few indipendent labels got to know the Slapsticks could be a good bet: among them Nicotine Records. By the end of 2006 their first album, "Rollin' the dice", saw the light. Meanwhile, Tornado Records contacts the five bolognese freaks to realize Coverones: a bunch of italian punk rock bands record a Ramones' cover each,from their first album, interpretating it in their own style. The Slapsticks take part to the project recording "I wanna be your boyfriend" giving to the song a very rock'n'rolling sound. In Autumn 2007 their former drummer and rythm guitarist, Mr Linterno (also drummer in the hardcore band "Linterno") and Nick Pain left the band.
Mr Linterno's place has been taken by the brilliant Mesca (also drumming in Ed, excellent hardcore band from Bologna), while AJC came in and plays rythm guitar beside Raimundo. The "new" Slapsticks are now makin gigs around ( sometimes supporting great bands such Lords of Altamont, supported in Grenoble, Peter Pan Speedrock, etc...) while working on the new album.
